Breeding
We breed a limited number of field trial dogs each year. We strive to produce a dog with the ability and desire to run as well as find birds. Socialization begins early, our pups are introduced to humans, birds and even horses at an early age. This helps to nurture the natural ability of the dogs.
Our breeding stock is geared toward the foot hunter. Both males and females are hunted every year on pheasant and quail. Even though we have some of the best training available, we like to start out with a dog that has a lot of natural drive and ability. All of our breeding stock has shown a natural tendency for pointing, backing and retrieving.
Breeding pairs produce puppies with a tremendous amount of "birdiness". Puppies are socialized early and are often introduced to birds at 7 weeks old. Because we have chosen a breeding stock that has a natural interest in hunting, our pups also acquire this trait. |
